Located in the “old” downtown of the former Town of Manatee, Glazier-Gates Park is dedicated to two early pioneers of Manatee County. At the park is a plaque bearing the names of Josiah Gates and Ezekiel Glazier, both of whom built early homes in this area in 1841 and 1844 respectively.
This is one of the City’s largest parks with the most amenities, including a full-sized basketball court (refurbished in April 2013), a tennis court two grills, playground equipment and more. Giant oaks and palm trees provide ample amounts of shade for the playground and picnic tables, and parking is plentiful at the park’s two vehicular entrances off Manatee Avenue East and 10th Street East.
Playground equipment (Full-sized jungle gym and smaller versions, swing set, see-saws and more).
Picnic tables and benches
Path for walking or bike riding through and around the park
